CRNA programs

What an accredited nurse-anesthesia program looks like and what it costs.

Last reviewed May 16, 2026How we rank

A CRNA program is a doctoral, full-time commitment, typically 36-48 months and program-dependent. It is not an online-while-you-work pathway the way an RN-to-BSN is. Programs marketed as hybrid or distance move only the didactic coursework off campus; the online CRNA programs page explains what that format does and does not change.

The certification path

Doctoral entry-to-practice; graduates sit the National Certification Examination administered by the NBCRNA.

Before you apply

  • BSN and active RN license
  • Minimum one year of critical-care RN experience
  • Competitive GPA and GRE (program-specific)
